NEW EAC TARIFFS FOR 2022

In the context of its tariffs calculation methodology, EAC is obliged to submit new tariffs to the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (CERA) for approval every year.

In accordance with CERA's decision No. 1/2022, the 2021 tariffs, as approved by decision No. 15/2021, will remain in force throughout 2022, with the exception of the tariff related to the recovery of expenses of the CTSO (T-TSO), which was approved at €0.11 cent/kWh instead of €0.9 cent/kWh. This charge is part of the Network Tariff.

The Tariffs for 2022 have been approved by CERA's decision No. 18/2022.

The new tariffs came into force on 1 January 2022. It is noted that they will be applied to electricity bills as follows:

  • for monthly customers whose meter will be read at the end of January 2022 and

  • for bi-monthly customers whose meter will be read from 1 March 2022 and afterwards.
