"Tender No.: 384/2001 Motor Vehicles Successful Tenderer Brief Description of Contract Work 1.EXTENT OF CONTRACT - The Tender covers the supply of the following vehicles: ITEM NO. QUANTITY TYPE OF VEHICLE 1 1 Multi purpose saloon station wagon 4WD, 5 door, 5 seater, with a loading area of about 1.0 sq.m. 2 1 Small Commercial Van, Hatchback, diesel. 3 1 Pick-up Type Vehicle, double cabin, 4WD, with loading Platform not less than 2 sq.m., 4 door. 4 2 Aerial Hydraulic Plantform 5 1 Van Mounted Aerial Hydraulic Platform. 6 1 Truck 4x4 fitted with crane at rear of the loading platform. 7 3 Special Vehicle Van, 4WD. 8 5 Autocycle 9 2 Multipurpose Saloon, station wagon, 4WD, 3 door, 2 or 3 seater. 10 2 Six Seater Window Panel Vehicle (J). 11 1 Multi purpose saloon station wagon 4WD, 5 door, 5 seater, with a loading area of over 1.0 sq.m. 12 4 Panel Van, 4WD (M) 2. DELIVERY - The vehicles must be delivered the soonest possible after ordering and in any case not later than five months from the date of award of contract. 3. CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT - The Conditions of Contract will be the Electricity Authority of Cyprus Conditions and the Contract will be in conformity with the laws of the Republic of Cyprus and shall be governed by such laws. 4. PAYMENT - The work will be financed from the Authority’s funds and the Contract will provide terms of payment as quoted in the above mentioned Conditions of Contract. 5. GENERAL CONSTRUCTION - The construction of the vehicles must comply fully with the requirements of the transport Laws and Regulations issued by the Cyprus Government .Furthermore, the vehicles must comply fully with the European Specifiation and Directives .Vague statements and references shall not be acceptable. 6. EXPERIENCE - The Tenderers must have proven and extensive experience in the execution of Contracts of similar nature and value, as will be offered in their Tender and their vehicles have satisfactorily performed for long periods. 7. VALIDITY - Tenders are required to be held open for acceptance for 120 days from the Closing Date specified. 8. TENDER BOND - The Tenderers are required, as a security for the due performance of their obligations under the Tender, to submit with their Tender an irrevocable Bank Guarantee issued or confirmed by a local Bank carrying out full Banking Operations in Cyprus, in the sum of C£ 1.000,- for each one of items 7,10 and 12 and in the sum of C£500,- for each one of the remaining items. Tenderers offering more than one item, may submit one Tender Bond in the relevant total amount. The validity of the said Bond shall not expire prior to 30 days beyond the validity of the Tender. The above shall be returnable to the Tenderers’ Bankers if their Tender is not accepted. 9. PERFORMANCE BOND - The successful Tenderer will be required to furnish a Performance Bond to the amount of 10% of the total Contract value. The said Bond shall be valid up to 36 months after delivery of the vehicles. 10. TENDER DOCUMENTS - Tender Documents will be available from the Electricity Authority of Cyprus as from 18 January 2001, upon payment of C£ 50 - plus V.A.T. for a set of 4 Documents. This payment will not be refundable. 11. CLOSING DATE - Tenders are returnable to the Head Office of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, by 10 April 2001 at 12.00 hours local time. 12. AWARD - Each item will be adjudicated and awarded separately. 13. GENERAL - The Electricity Authority of Cyprus does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any Tender, nor will it be responsible for any costs incurred by the Tenderers in making their Tenders. 14. MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT - The Authority shall enter into 5-year maintenance agreement with the successful Tenderer for the service and repair of all vehicles to be purchased. 15. SERVICE STATION - The Tenderers must maintain a service station in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca and Paphos. 16. PREFERENTIAL POLICY FOR LOCAL MANUFACTURERS - Any Tenderer who may claim protection as per the Government's preferential policy for local manufacturers, will be required to furnish the Authority with the necessary certificate issued by a Firm of Certified Public Accountants."
